Ingredients for the Easy Homemade Instant Pot Applesauce
- 8 apples- I used red delicious apples, but you can really use any variety of apples including a mixture of red and green apples.
- 1 cup of water
- The juice from 1/2 lemon (about 1 tbsp)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 2-3 tbsp. honey (optional)

Step 1- Peel and Core the Apples
The first step in making this instant pot applesauce is to peel and core the apples. The apples should be in slices in the end and they do not need to be super small. You can use a typical peeler and corer or this 3 in 1 tool, whichever you prefer.

Step 2- Put all of the ingredients in the Instant Pot and cook
Put all of the ingredients for the applesauce into the instant pot in any order. Then, turn the knob on top of the instant pot to sealing. Cook on high pressure (press the pressure cook button) for 10 minutes. When it is finished, you can either let the instant pot slowly release the pressure, or release it manually by quickly turning the knob on top back to venting.

Step 3- Blend the Easy Homemade Instant Pot Applesauce and Enjoy!
Blend the applesauce using an immersion blender or a potato masher. Then add more spices to taste if you would like. You can serve it hot or let it chill in the refrigerator before serving. Either way, it is delicious!

Notes
- I used all red (specifically red delicious) apples, but you can use any apples including a combination of green and red apples.
- This recipe makes a relatively watery applesauce. If you prefer a thicker applesauce, add less water.
Storage for the Easy Homemade Instant Pot Applesauce
- Refrigerator: Up to 10 days in an airtight container
- Freezer: Up to 3 months. Let it thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
